The research services of the University of Vaasa are presented

Yleinen

Various research services are offered by several different university service units for different phases of the project’s life cycle. This blog is mostly written by research services experts who focus on pre-award services. However, writings will be requested from everyone who has something to contribute to the project’s life cycle services. In this blog, we aim to collect various useful tips and tools for researchers. If you have story tips or wishes about topics, send an email to katja.marttunen@uwasa.fi

Who are we?

Heidi-Maaria Haapala is already familiar to many researchers at the University of Vaasa. She is especially good at the Academy of Finland’s applications, contracts and is quite a budget wizard.

Mathias Björklund is a newcomer at the University of Vaasa, but a long-term expert and experienced project wizard. Special skills include e.g. Horizon projects, but can help smoothly in all project searches.

Juha Vänskä offers an older guard, but strong expertise, especially in Interreg and ERDF applications. He always also has one foot in the project, so you can certainly get good tips from him for post-award activities as well.

Katja Marttunen started at the same time as Mathias. She is the newest entrant in the project world and her senior colleagues guide him well. Katja is also responsible for the team’s information and organizing events.

Niklas Lundström and Juuli Honko, who pilot the graduate school, are also involved. Their responsibility is to help doctoral students and supervisors in all matters related to research training. Anne Yli-Hallila, on the other hand, is the oldest conker and is responsible for e.g. From the SoleCRIS database. All of this is piloted by Virpi Juppo and she is also responsible for e.g. on research ethics issues. You can always send us an email together at tutkimus@lists.uwasa.fi and one of us will take over the job.

What will be discussed in the blog?

The blog will tell about upcoming project calls, tips for writing applications and introduce various tools that researchers can benefit from. The content will be broader than what we offer at the fair and with a personal touch.

We will also collect material from Research cafés on the blog, and here you can easily find links to the materials if you happen to need the materials later. All blog texts will be in English, so that we can reach all researchers at the University of Vaasa. New texts are published approximately every two weeks on various current topics.

What else do we offer?

Of course, our services include versatile assistance with funding applications, signatures, contracts, information about applications, etc. In addition, we organize a Research café and other training events. If you need, for example, training suitable for your research group, e.g. hunting for suitable financial instruments or a clinic on writing applications, then contact us and we will offer a solution that suits you.

You can view the listing of our services in more detail on the intranet/ here.
