How do we advance sustainable and research assessment via CoARA agreement

Yleinen

University of Vaasa has among 600 other higher education institutions and organisations signed the CoARA agreement. CoARA is based on 10 commitments, which establishes a common direction for research assessment reform. The Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment sets a direction in assessment practices for research, researchers and research performing organisations, with the overarching goal to maximise the quality and impact of research.

The Agreement includes the principles, commitments and timeframe for reforms and lays out the principles for a Coalition of organisations willing to work together in implementing the changes. The Agreement focuses on the specific challenges involved in reforming the research assessment of researchers, research projects, research units and research organisations.

It has ten Commitments:

CoARA ten commitments

University of Vaasa has integrated and developed several of these commitments already in the processes and research evaluations and assessments. In the spring 2024 self-evaluation report on our activities is drafted and reported to the Coalition.

We invite you all to get to know and follow these commitments.

Research services - Research support blog

Various research services are offered by several different university service units for different phases of the project's life cycle. However, this blog is mostly written by research services staff who focus on pre-award services. We will ask writings from everyone who has something to contribute to the project's life cycle services. In this blog, we aim to collect various useful tips and tools for researchers. If you have story tips or wishes about topics, send an email to katja.marttunen@uwasa.fi
